Leaders urgently required for this thriving and demanding ministry. Do you feel God is calling you to reach out to 11-13 year olds in our community who are generally unchurched? The group meets Wednesday from 5.30 until 7.15 pm term-time and you would be required to have a CRB check (unless you already have a disclosure for Church). Kids groups from September

The PCC has considered suggestions about the way forward for our young people on Sunday mornings during church time. The age groups will again be split with the 0-2 meeting under the East Window to be headed up by Fiona Dracup and monitored by mums and dads, 2-6 will meet in the side chapel with one of the helpers being Cath Staneff 6-11 Meeting in the Parish rooms with Marianne Fernandez. Both 2-6 and 6-11 will require other helpers please speak to Don or the relevant leader if you can help. Ideally we will need two people at each session, but preferable not the same two people each time they meet.

The Well Project Funding

Lighthouse Group Centre Manager

We delighted to announce that Gav Budby has been appointed our alternative education Centre Manager (Head teacher) after a rigorous interview process. This, at the moment, is a half time post. The other half he will be continuing his youth work and school mentoring. The centre will be based in the parish rooms Mon, Tues, Thur, Fri, afternoons from October this year.

After-School Club

We are thinking of starting up a new After-School Club based in the Parish Rooms. It will probably be on a Thursday from 4.00 pm until 5.00 pm and will be aimed at children in School Years 5 and 6 (ages 9 to 11 years). No experience necessary, but if you think you’ve got a particular skill and would like to get involved please see Diane Brennan.

Summer Holiday Project – Calling All Young People

Summer Holiday Project – Calling All Young People This year All Saints Youth Project and The Well will be running various events for young people aged 11 – 18 years. The project will begin on the 27th July 2010 and will continue every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon throughout the holiday period. Though we have some events confirmed we would like our young people to be part of the planning. If you would like to be involved then please come along to The Well@Woodhouse every Thursday afternoon 3.00 pm – 5.00 pm. We will also be looking for volunteers to be part of this summer project. Eggcellent Easter Egg Hunt

After Sunday’s service there will be an ‘Eggstravaganza’ consisting of and Easter Egg Hunt in the Church yard/inside Church (weather depending). Each child will be given half an egg with the task of hunting high and low for the other half. Then both halves can be ‘Eggchanged’ for an ‘Eggcellent’ prize.
See Guy or Jenny at the end of the service to collect your half and prize.

Floodlight

In April we will be launching our sport based bible study group ‘Floodlight’. This is aimed at young people aged 13 – 18 years and will take place every Friday evening in the Parish Rooms, 6.30 pm till 7.30 pm. There is a information leaflet available on the welcome desk. Intro Night will be Friday 16th April 2010.

Easter Meditations

This year the young people have been given the responsibility of organising our Easter meditations. It will take the form of a walk around meditation that helps you reflect and interact on Jesus’ ‘Journey on the Cross’. You can participate in this journey anytime you wish between 6.30 pm – 8.00 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening in the church. (When you arrive could you please enter the church in a quiet manner).

Harvest Festival

Our Harvest Festival will be on Sunday 4th October at 10.30 am. The PCC has decided that our Harvest offering this year will be going towards ‘Joseph’s Storehouse’ which provides aid to poor and needy people, both Jewish and Arab, living in Israel. As usual, we will also like to encourage you to bring produce which will be received during the service. Non-perishable goods will be used to replenish our ‘food cupboard’ and fruit and vegetables will be donated to a local homeless charity. We would also be grateful if you are also able to bring some fruit and vegetables on Saturday 3rd October, which we can then use these to help decorate Church. Please see Jenny to arrange this.

Normanton Kids Aloud

Friday the 27th March was a fantastic night for the town of Normanton.

Over 200 people packed into our church to listen to 110 schoolchildren sing about Easter.

Lead by Dave Clark and the All Saints Worship Team the children, from 5 schools around the Normanton area, sang their hearts out to the impressed audience.

The children sang some of their own individual school songs and then came together under the leadership of Dave to produce “a sound pleasing to heaven”

The church did a great job in producing the event too. From the PA/VA, lighting, catering (yes we fed all 110 children), all the “happy helpers” dealing with security and other issues, all worked very hard to make the event a great success, not only for the church and the town, but for GOD.

Some comments about the evening:

“One of our Y2 pupils told her mum that she just didn’t have enough words to be able to say how good it was!! Thanks to everyone who helped out in any way “

“The evening was wonderful, there was such a positive feeling amongst everyone who was there. Bringing the Normanton families together in this way is such an important opportunity. “

“We thought Fridays event went extremely well and was much enjoyed by everyone. Thank you for organising it for us. “

“Thank you for a wonderful evening.”
