The Well – Update

There will be no coffee morning at The Well next Friday the 14th October, due to the Parish Weekend.

We have put an application in with Natwest Community Force to receive up to £6,000 of funding. It is based on people voting for their favourite projects. Please can I encourage everybody to go onto the website and register and then vote for The Well. The more votes we get the better chance we have of receiving some funding. To vote, please visit natwest.com/communityforce by 23rd October 2011.

Parish Rooms Building Work

The Building Work on the Parish Rooms is complete apart from carpeting. Coffee will be served there this morning after worship so we can all enjoy the transformation.

Reaching Communities Funding

Our application is going to panel for a decision within the first two weeks of July. Please could we encourage the Church to pray for this meeting, that we may receive a positive outcome. We will have the decision by the end of July.

The Well – National Carers Week

Thank you so much for all the support and prayers received regarding our Reaching Communities Application. After a 50 minute interview! our application will now go forward for a final panel decision to be made in July. We should receive a decision in the last week of July.

On Thursday 19th May Jenny has a phone interview at 9.00 am with an assessor from the big lottery, regarding our Reaching Communities Application. Please could we encourage everyone to pray for this interview, as it will be really important in the outcome of our application. Thank you.

Lighthouse Group Centre Manager

We delighted to announce that Gav Budby has been appointed our alternative education Centre Manager (Head teacher) after a rigorous interview process. This, at the moment, is a half time post. The other half he will be continuing his youth work and school mentoring. The centre will be based in the parish rooms Mon, Tues, Thur, Fri, afternoons from October this year.

Police Drop in

Well – Register of Interest A register is to be collated of church member interest in the Well and community. This will provide opportunity for church members to volunteer their interest in aspects of the community outreach, or future opportunities, and will enable Cliff to identify suitable training days or visits to other projects to gain further insight into your area of interest. In addition, we shall use the form to collate areas of interest in church based volunteer/involvement activity. Forms are available on the welcome desk. Please complete them and return them to the ‘pigeon-hole’ FAO Cliff.

Well – Surgery

Well – Surgery We are to commence the use of the Well for community surgeries on Friday mornings, alongside the coffee mornings, and the first of these will be a ‘Police Surgery’ on July 23rd. This will be an opportunity for members of the community to discuss issues of concern with the police.

Summer Holiday Project – Calling All Young People

Summer Holiday Project – Calling All Young People This year All Saints Youth Project and The Well will be running various events for young people aged 11 – 18 years. The project will begin on the 27th July 2010 and will continue every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoon throughout the holiday period. Though we have some events confirmed we would like our young people to be part of the planning. If you would like to be involved then please come along to The Well@Woodhouse every Thursday afternoon 3.00 pm – 5.00 pm. We will also be looking for volunteers to be part of this summer project. The Well Official Opening by the Bishop of Pontefract – Saturday April 24th @ 10.30 am The official
opening of the Well by the Bishop of Pontefract will include many community figures being in
attendance, and you are invited to visit on the day itself. If a number of people would be willing to
bake/serve drinks on the day, could you please let Cliff know. If you have not yet visited the Well,
this will be an ideal opportunity.

Surgery Open Days

The building will be open to the community for viewing and discussion on its use on December 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th and 16th from 10.00 am until 3.00 pm, and again on the evening of the 8th and 15th from 7.00 pm until 8.00 pm.

If you are able to provide mince pies, serve them in the centre, or drive the mini-bus can you indicate so on the forms on the church desk?

Woodhouse Consultation

There is to be a community consultation evening at the Norman Public House, on Queen Elizabeth Drive, Woodhouse, to obtain feedback on community interest in the use of the surgery building. Date and time of meeting is Tuesday 24th November @ 7.30 pm – please attend if you live in the community, or encourage family and friends who do so.
