The Choir returns to the highest quality Sacred Music for its next 2 concerts, both featuring music from the Baroque period. On Saturday 29th October, 7.30 pm, in Wakefield Cathedral they will present ‘Magnificat’ by J S Back, (perhaps the most famous of all church composers), with ‘Mass in C Minor (often called ‘The great C minor Mass’) by Mozart, (perhaps the most famous of all composers). A change of style and a change of venue feature in the Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir’s next concert of ‘Springtime Jazz’ to be held in Leeds in ‘The Venue’ at the Leeds College of Music on Saturday 21st May at 7.30 pm. For the second time in recent years the choir moves out of its usual comfort zone and into Jazz and Blues, featuring Will Todd’s ‘Mass in Blue’ and Bob Chilcott’s ‘Little Jazz Mass’.
