The next meeting is Wednesday 13th April, 7.30 pm at Claire’s house. The topic is books – you can tell us about your favourite, bring books to swap or lend, anything you like as long as it’s about books!! All ladies welcome and do bring a friend. Church Walks in March 2011

Our next Monday afternoon walk is 7th March and will be in Bretton Country Park. Please let John & Kate (tel: 223893) know if you are planning to join us and we will meet at he Parish Rooms for a 1pm start. Next Friday (11th March) will be the next fortnightly Health Walk for The Well. Our next Saturday walk is 26th March. Weather permitting, we will be walking 5 miles (with an optional extension of a mile or so) from Digley Reservoir near Holmfirth. Please let John & Kate (tel:223893) know if you are planning to join us and we will meet at the Parish Rooms for a 9am start as usual. Our following Saturday walk will now be on Easter Saturday, 23rd April. We have not decided on our destination yet but on the basis of calculations based on our recorded church walks we will be clocking up our 1,000th mile!

Summer Camps 2011

Dates for your diary!! Yes it is February already and before we know it Easter will be upon us, therefore it is now the right time to point out two dates for your diary.30th July – 6th August = Faith Camp 26th August – 30th August = Grapevine. Both of these camps provide amazing and uplifting teaching and can be strongly recommended. A number of church families will be attending these camps this year and some will even go to both! Grapevine brochures are available on the welcome desk, and both websites contain all the information you will ever need including speaker details. You will even save money the earlier you book with the best savings if you book before the end of February. See Guy for more details.

I am delighted to say that Rt Revd. Colin Buchanan will be leading our teaching at Scarborough. Colin was principle of St. John’s Theological College, Nottingham before becoming bishop of Aston and then Woolwich. He is now retired in Leeds.

WoW Christmas Meal

When: 15 Dec 2010. Where: Birchwood Farm, Glasshoughton (new pub near Asda), Cost: £variable-Choose from a festive set meal at £16 or from the menu. If you would like to come please let either Rose or Anne know as soon as possible. To reserve places we need a deposit of £8 per person by Sunday 24 October 2010. Transport will be available for everyone, more details nearer the time.

8th – 10th October, booking forms are very slow at coming in. It is now only four weeks so let’s have your completed forms now which are available on the welcome desk. Please put your booking and deposit in the box provided, book now to avoid disappointment. Paul Alexander and his wife Carol, principal of Mattersey Bible college and renowned conference speaker will lead our studies. The college is also intending to staff our kids groups. Only a month to go!

An afternoon celebrating the life of the Diocese on Sunday 13th June at Nostell Priory. Gates open at 12 noon, bring a picnic. Activities forall ages, Labyrinth, Grassroots Theatre Company, Bouncy Castle, Prayer Tent and displays from Deanery and Diocesan Organisations.

Celebration Eucharist at 2.30 pm with preacher Archbishop Barry Morgan, Archbishop of Wales.

Choral Evensong at 5.00 pm at Wragby Church with Wakefield Cathedral Choir.
