Kingdom Faith Women’s Conference

Calling all women to an exciting event, Kingdom Faiths Women’s Conference, it is that time of year again when we need to look to book the conference. For a few years a number of women have enjoyed the time away with other women from our church with a larger gathering of women at Kingdom Faith for some inspiration, teaching and social time. The conference is to be held this 27 28 April at Kingdom Faith Horsham. The group from church travel down and share the costs of this by car sharing on the Friday morning and have x 2 night accommodation in a shared room at the local Premier Inn [the earlier we book the cheaper this is and then the cost of the conference £25 [yet to be confirmed]. Breakfast and evening meals are then paid for as consumed with lunch on the Saturday provided in conference fee. Please consider this experience and if you want to know more speak to Rose or Anne

Normanton Gala 2011

Saturday 10th September is Normanton Gala Day. We will be taking part with a float and a stand at the Gala.

We need people on the day to help:

Loading and unloading of the bus.
Giving out leaflets
Helping with Refreshments
Chatting to people from the town about your ministry…youth, Alpha, children’s work etc etc
If you can help it would be really fantastic. Just an hour or so, or longer if you can.

There will be loads of refreshments and cake.

It will be a real opportunity to reach out to the town and bring them closer..Time to Sow Seeds

Wheelchair needed

Sometimes people coming to church on disability scooters find it difficult to get to the toilet whilst in church. It would be a help to have a wheelchair available for them. If you know of one that could be donated to the church it would be a great help.

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to those who came and helped clear the Parish Rooms last Sunday. Your help was really appreciated! The building work on the Parish Rooms re-ordering will begin Monday 27th June, we apologise for any inconvenience this will cause in the short term, but we will soon have an updated building which we can use to it’s full potential! Please look at the notice board for information regarding the link we have with Mara, below is a short extract from the letter we received (full letter on notice board) thanking us for the bibles we funded last year and how they are being used in the study groups.

The Diocese of Mara – distribution of bibles to the bible study groups

First of all, I, Revd Canon Jacob Robert on the behalf of the Christian education department and on the behalf of My Diocese of Mara, I would like to send our gratefulness to you, our friend of the church of All Saints Normanton for your generous Bible contribution, that has enabled us now to read and study the Bible. Lighthouse Group Centre Manager

We delighted to announce that Gav Budby has been appointed our alternative education Centre Manager (Head teacher) after a rigorous interview process. This, at the moment, is a half time post. The other half he will be continuing his youth work and school mentoring. The centre will be based in the parish rooms Mon, Tues, Thur, Fri, afternoons from October this year.

Asda Bus Service

The bus service will run every Thurs in June. It goes from Ripley Court and Wynn Dale to Asda at Glasshoughton and returns an hour or so later.

We also make space available to church family members who would otherwise struggle to get to the shops.

Next month as a trial we will stop by “The Well”.
