Hope 08 - A year of church activity!

After a great deal of vision pitching, networking and publicising of Hope 2008, the year of unified mission is finally with us. Our first project was to find the needs of our town through the churches questionaire. It has provided us with a fantastic insight into the feelings of the people of Normanton.

Armed with this information the PCC have formulated activities for the rest of this Hope08 year.

Second Multisport Week a Success

Easter holidays found the A.S. Normanton Youth Team along with Freeston Sports Centre organising a week long Multisport Holiday club.

Over twenty young people attended this event and where given the opportunity to take part in Rugby, Boxing, Football and Street Dance to name but a few activities. Due to the success of this event we are planning a third holiday club during May Half-Term.

March Meeting at the Black Swan

Men Awake met last night (25th March). The upper room was almost full to capacity. To say that this was the second time of meeting, men awake has certainly awoken Mens hearts at All Saints Normanton.

The evening began with Howards opening notices. Date changes to events later on in the year, a mens conference in Manchester during May. All the time the door kept opening as more men arrived. New faces, faces from the past, faces we had never seen before.

The room was filling with MEN who wanted to be there. MEN who wanted to know.

Intro and notices over the evening began with music from Terry Gill. Terry delivered and impeccable performance, the songs and words producing a great spiritual atmosphere. His performances are never the same, having an ability to deliver just what is needed.

The evening continued with a testimony from Ron Young. Ron and his wife Rose came to Normanton last year. His testimony was a facinating insight into a bloke and his Faith. A great encouragment for Chistian Men young and old, new and ancient!
