Here’s an invitation you surely wouldn’t want to refuse – a glorious Midsummer’s Evening, wonderful music, an interval glass of wine all in the superb light and vibrant surroundings of the renovated Wakefield Cathedral.

The Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir’s summer concert ‘Magical Mozart on Midsummer’s Day’, Saturday Evening 21st June at 7.30pm in Wakefield Cathedral. It features the Coronation Mass, Solemn Vespers and Exsultate Jubilate and in a move away from our normal concert structure, the concert will also feature a solo instrumentalist. Niklas Duckworth will be playing Mozart’s 20th Piano Concerto, a popular and refreshing work which will add further verve and variety to an already inspiring evening.

Mozart’s zest for life, humour, love of a good tune shine through all these works and his lightness of touch make it ideal musical fayre for Midsummer.
