Parish Weekend This year the Parish Weekend will be on 13th—15th October, the booking forms are on the welcome desk, please put your deposit and completed form in the box provided. To secure Green Gables for our inclusive use we are committed to 100 places, at the moment we have 41 adults and 12 children booked. We are continuing to take bookings. Jean Fearnley is running a savings club for those who wish to spread the cost over the year.

WOW Next meeting Wednesday 26th April. “Uncommon Sense” have you got it? Wine and chat at the Vicarage.

Normanton Gala If you would like to have a float, a static display or a charity stall at the Gala we have booking forms in the office, please see Barbara.

Booking Forms In addition to the Parish Weekend I have booking forms for Faith Camp Which is July 29th—August 5th. If you want more info have a word with Don. School of Ministry June 20th—25th, Roffey Place Desperate Times need a Determined People.

The Outreach Support Service for Rough Sleepers Are currently in urgent need of basic food and blankets for rough sleepers in the Wakefield area, if you can provide anything please take it to the church office.

Monday Prayer Will be taking a break over Easter, coming back with renewed vigour on 8th May.

Rotas The service rotas for May and the Deputy Wardens rotas are in the pigeon holes.

Lofthouse 2000 Brass Band Will be performing in church again on Saturday 13th May. Mark it in your diary.

Brass Cleaning We need volunteers to clean the brasses in church. Only one hour, once a month is required when two people make the commitment. Chris needs one volunteer to help her. An extra two volunteers would mean the brasses would once again be cleaned fortnightly, as they were in the past. Please see Barbara

London Marathon—Kate Penrose Kate is running the London Marathon on Sunday 23rd April. She has decided to support the Alzheimer’s Society and if anyone would like to sponsor her please contact Kate directly (tel: 223893) or Sally Dinsdale, who also has a sponsor form.

Coast to Coast Cycle Darren Marchant is taking part in the sponsored Coast to Coast cycle (Southport—Hornsea 215 miles) on June 1st—3rd raising money for Martin House Hospice, if you would like to sponsor him there are forms on the welcome desk.

Open Doors On Wednesday 3rd May at 7.30 pm the ‘Open Doors’ film ‘Behind the Sun’ will be shown at Ginny’s house. This powerful film set in the Middle East follows the life of a Muslim who becomes a Christian. All welcome. The ‘Open Doors’ petition in support of persecuted Christians in Eritrea is still on the welcome desk for those who have yet to sign. Please also send the letter to the authorities concerned to help our brothers and sisters in Christ. Every letter counts.
