Next Sunday His Story at 10.30 am What do we as Christians believe. Come along for to gain confidence in what you believe and how to share it. This will be followed by a faith lunch in the parish rooms (bring any food to share with all). Because this is so important for the fulfilling of the vision there will be no 6.30 pm worship.

Prayer Monday evening prayer re-starts tomorrow at 7.00 pm. This is for all the congregation to be a part of. Tomorrow will be encouragement in how to pray for 1 hour.

PCC The minutes from the last meeting are in the pigeon holes and the Standing Committee meeting will be next Sunday after the morning service.

PCC Minutes A précis of the PCC minutes are on the welcome desk for everyone to read.

Thank You Jan and Ray Rushworth would like to thank everyone involved in making Stacey’s day such a special one.

BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY 10.30am and 6.30pm

Invitation cards are available at the back of church today to give to everyone who has been a member of this church but is no longer and not worshipping elsewhere.

Fill in the details of the services and a personal message on the back. If you are not sure whether they are going elsewhere I suggest you put “If you are not going to church anywhere else” before your invitation. We would like you to meet up with them to bring them with you. Don’t assume that someone else will invite people, you do it. The more invitations individuals receive the more they will understand that they are missed. A personal invitation is always more effective than one dropped through the letterbox. Guests will receive a goodie bag which will contain a bar of chocolate! This is our major outreach event of the year and will be followed by and Alpha Course.

Parish Weekend There are still places for the weekend in Scarborough. Don’t miss out on a great time together. Booking forms on the welcome desk.

Women on Wednesday Meet with us on 13th September to chat about books we read over the summer.

Parish Walk—Saturday 9th September We are planning to have a walk in the Dales or Wolds, if you would like to join us or would like further information (we should have decided on the location by next Thursday!), please give John or Kate a ring (223893). We will meet at the Parish Rooms and leave at 8.30 am.

Sunday 10th September Duty Rota:

If you are on duty but cannot make it then you must find a replacement. We have had a number of people recently who have failed to do this and it has caused embarrassing silences in the services, please check your rotas.

Almighty God,

Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray and to give more than either we desire or deserve: pour down upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid and giving us those good things which we are not worthy to ask but through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
