Nurture Group On Tuesday evenings (except Tuesday 30th) there will be a Nurture/Discipleship group in the parish rooms. If you are a new Christian or if you feel the need to broaden your understanding then why not come along and see what’s on offer. It starts at 7.30 pm and we expect to finish by 9.30 pm.

Men’s Group The Men’s group is to undergo a re-launch. We will meet monthly and apart from an occasional social get together, we hope to have some interesting evening discussions and talks brought to us through a series of invited guests. The diary of meetings for 2007 is on the welcome desk. If the men’s group is to survive, then we need your support. The re-launch date is Friday 9th February at 7.30 pm in the Parish Rooms

Training Day The next of our series of training days takes place on February 11th. Dave Teece will lead us in helping us to hear what people are really saying when we are talking to them. There will be no evening service on that day so that all can come together for the teaching. Commitment Sunday As in previous years we will be using the Methodist pattern of having a Sunday when we re-dedicate our lives to the Lord and his church. We will do this today morning and evening. This is the prayer to be used:

I am no longer my own but yours. Put me to what you will, rank me with whom you will; put me to doing, put me to suffering; let me be employed for you or laid aside for you, exalted for you or brought low for you; let me be full, let me be empty, let me have all things, let me have nothing; I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things to your pleasure and disposal. And now, glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, you are mine and I am yours. So be it. And the covenant made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven. Amen

Confirmation We will be hosting a confirmation here together with Kirkthorpe and Crofton on February 20th. If you would like to be confirmed please have a word with Don soonest. These are the people who have already contacted me Anna, David and Lauren Wills, Marie Anne, Scott, Jenny, Becky, Craig, Michael, Danielle. Would all these people please pick up the letter that is in their pigeon holes.

Musoma Our very own Jean Oades, along with a number of others from the Wakefield diocese are soon to fly out to Musoma in Tanzania. They will be spending time with our friends from St Johns Cathedral and the surrounding churches. They will be experiencing life at a very different pace. We look forward to hearing about Jean’s experience on her return.

Riding Lights The York based drama group Riding Lights will be with us on the evening of 28th March, please mark this in your diary.

Crèche You will all be aware that our crèche facility is now up and running and has proved very popular. We would like to encourage anyone who would be willing to help with crèche to contact Gavin Budby. You would not be expected to help with this group all the time as it works on a rota system.

Female Helpers Gavin is in desperate need of female helpers for Chill Out Zone. This group takes place on a Wednesday afternoon in the Parish Rooms 2.30 pm till 4.30 pm. We have had to close down this group due to child protection laws until we have at least one more female leader for the group. For further information contact Gavin Budby.
