Notice Board:



Training Day Dave Teece will lead us in helping us to hear what people are really saying when we are talking to them. There will be no evening service today so that all can come together for the teaching. Lunch will be provided in the Parish Rooms after the service.

Confirmation will take place on Tuesday 20th February. We normally have confirmations on Sundays but through the availability of Bishop’s we have had to go for this Tuesday evening. I do hope you will come and support those who are affirming their baptismal vows even if you do not know the candidates well yourself. There will be a rehearsal for all the candidates on Sunday 18th February at 4.00 pm in church, if you have not returned your completed form to the church office would you do so as soon as possible please. Ash Wednesday Service will be united with the Roman Catholic church at 7.30 pm at St Johns. We will have our normal communion at 10.00 am.

Baptism Visitors The next baptism preparation evening will be on Wednesday 21st February at 6.30 pm. This is going to be a very busy meeting with lots of families so would all baptism visitors please attend.

Sue Hulme Sue is training towards ordination. As part of which she is required to do a placement in a parish. She will be among us for about four weeks.

Property The wardens have tidied out the loft area in the store cupboard and they have put a lot of property in the vestry. If you think there might be something belonging to you would you please look and take it home, if you feel it needs to stay in church then have a word with Jonathan or Inga, anything not claimed will be thrown away after Sunday 18th February.

Lost Property The lost property box under the welcome desk is full again, any property not claimed will be thrown away after Sunday 18th February.

Evelyn Dunbar-Nasmith We have produced a DVD of the service if you would like a copy have a word with Don.

PCC The minutes from the last meeting are in the pigeon holes, the standing committee meeting is today after the morning service.

Coffee/Welcome If you are on the coffee/welcome rota there is a letter for you in your pigeon hole.

Rotas The new service rotas for March are in the pigeon holes.

Deputy Wardens Rotas The new rotas are in the pigeon holes.

Faith Camp 28th Feb final date for £85 the reduced rates for early booking, please return booking form with money to Don or Barbara. Brochures on the welcome desk.

Riding Lights The York based drama group Riding Lights will be with us on the evening of 28th March, please mark this in your diary.

Parish Walks Future walk dates are 10th March, 12th May and 23rd June.

Communion Non-alcoholic wine is available at each communion service just ask the administrator when you come forward if you would prefer.

If you are on duty but cannot make it then you must find a replacement. We have had a number of people recently who have failed to do this and it has caused embarrassing silences in the services, please check your rotas.
