Notice Board:
PCC and Coordinators There is an important letter for you to collect from the pigeon holes.
Wholemeal is a Diocesan festival, with the theme of healing, in the stream of that which we began a couple of years ago with “Longing for Light”. It is an all age event in the Cathedral taking place from 3.00 pm on 20th October. There will be an act of worship starting about 6.00 pm bringing together some of the activities of the afternoon workshops. If you are staying for the whole time you might like to take a packed tea to have in the Cathedral. See poster on notice board.
Heating Unfortunately the church boiler has just about breathed its last so we are looking to replace it in the near future, please bear with us as the PCC try to resolve the problem.
Rotas The service rotas for November are in the pigeon holes.
PCC The next meeting is on Wednesday 17th October the agendas and the minutes from the last meeting are in the pigeon holes.
Mission 07 As you may or may not be aware The Mission 07 is just a few weeks away and I need to know who is willing to help during that week. The main areas where I need a team are in the security, refreshment and pre/after event teams. If you are able to help out from 6.00 pm on the 24th, 25th and 26th October in anyway then please contact Gavin (or Jonathan & Diane Brennan whilst I am on holiday). Thanks Gavin.
Women on Wednesday 17th October “Café Culture” 7.30 pm at the vicarage. The date for the meeting in November has been changed to the 28th to avoid a clash with the PCC—meal out together. Let Dawn know if you are interested. All welcome—more info on 893100.
Thank You I would like to thank everyone for their prayers, good wishes, flowers, cards and baking during my recent illness; I am now feeling much better and back at work—Barbara.
Thank You I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me through my ministry at Normanton. I know the past few months have been difficult for everyone but I pray that you will hold true to your faith and follow God’s lead. Although I will miss you all I am hopeful for the future. Please remember that although I may be serving elsewhere my heart is still with Normanton and if any feel that they need my help you just have to ask—Dave.
Free to a good home 28 inch wide screen colour television complete with built in freeview and stand. Traditional style TV (not LCD) made by Sony, 5 years old and in excellent condition. Its big and heavy but it is an excellent TV. Contact Barbara in the church office.
Kate Penrose is running the NEW YORK MARATHON on the 4th of November. Please consider sponsoring me in this run of over 26 miles. I am fund raising for the Alzheimer’s Society and you can support me by using the form on the welcome desk or by making your donation online at www.justgiving.com/katepenrose . thank you—Kate.
Précis of June PCC Minutes are on the welcome desk and the website.
Brass Cleaning We desperately need a couple of people to clean the brasses on a regular basis, at the moment we have no one. If two people come forward it will only take a couple of hours once a fortnight—see Christine Steels.
Parish Walks-advance notice Please note that we have revised the proposed dates of walks to avoid some ‘clashes’ Saturday 17th November and Saturday 8th December.
Communion Please wait to be directed when taking Communion. If you have any special requests (eg non-alcoholic wine, difficulty with steps etc) please make the Churchwarden aware of this.
Problems parking? Why not try parking on Church Lane or Neville Street, and walk through the churchyard.
