Notice Board:

Mission 07 As you may or may not be aware The Mission 07 is this week and I need to know who is willing to help during that week. The main areas where I need a team are in the security, refreshment and pre/after event teams. If you are able to help out from 6.00 pm on the 24th, 25th and 26th October in anyway then please contact Gavin. Thanks Gavin.

Hawaiian Party (Anti Halloween) On Wednesday 31st October 6.00—7.30 pm in the Parish Rooms, 13’s and under only, (under 4’s must be accompanied). Come and have fun in a safe environment, enjoy a hot dog, bob for apples and other non-scary stuff!

Shoebox Appeal We will be collecting shoeboxes this year for Operation Christmas Child, you can find leaflets for this on the welcome desk. If you need further information please speak to Gavin or Rachel.

Heating Unfortunately the church boiler has just about breathed its last so we are looking to replace it in the near future, please bear with us as the PCC try to resolve the problem.

Rotas The service rotas for November are in the pigeon holes.

Memorial Service will take place in church on 4th November at 3.00 pm for the loved ones whose relatives have died during the last year. You are more than welcome to attend, and if you would like someone to be remembered please let Barbara know.

Remembrance Sunday November 11th we will be joining the community around the Cenotaph for an act of remembrance at 10.30 am, so we will be having only a 9.30 am service in church that day.

Book Fare November 18th from 6.30 pm in church. Bring along friends and family to buy your Christmas presents and see what books are available, hear reviews, exchange well loved Christian books for others, have your children read stories, and all liberally mixed with a cup of coffee and a chat.

Christmas Services Oh no is it really that time of year! We will have our carols by candlelight on 16th December, with 3.00 and 5.00 pm Christingles on Christmas Eve and midnight communion, then on Christmas Day 8.00am traditional communion, with a 10.30 am family communion.

Kate Penrose to run in New York Marathon

Kate Penrose is running the New York Marathon in November and is hoping to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Please consider sponsoring me in this run of over 26 miles.

I am fund raising for the Alzheimer’s Society and you can support me by using the form on the Welcome Desk or by making your donation online at

www.justgiving.com/katepenrose .

Women on Wednesday The date for the meeting in November has been changed to the 28th for a meal out together. Let Dawn know if you are interested. All welcome—more info on 893100.

Brass Cleaning We desperately need a couple of people to clean the brasses on a regular basis, at the moment we have no one. If two people come forward it will only take a couple of hours once a fortnight—see Christine Steels.

Précis of June PCC Minutes are on the welcome desk and the website.

Parish Walks-advance notice Please note that we have revised the proposed dates of walks to avoid some ‘clashes’ Saturday 17th November and Saturday 8th December.

Communion Please wait to be directed when taking Communion. If you have any special requests (eg non-alcoholic wine, difficulty with steps etc) please make the Churchwarden aware of this.

Problems parking? Why not try parking on Church Lane or Neville Street, and walk through the churchyard.
Sunday 28th October. Duty Roster

If you are on duty but cannot make it then you must find a replacement. We have had a number of people recently who have failed to do this and it has caused embarrassing silences in the services, please check your rotas.
