Notice Board:

A Line in the sand I think we are all keen to move on from the difficulties we have faced over the last few months and come together to continue our mission to bring the gospel to Normanton. So Dave Clark and I have spent time looking at how me might mark this. For the next two weeks at the 9.30 service and the 11.30 service on the 25th we will not have any music but will use the time to seek the Lord together and to humble ourselves before God and one another and pray so He might bless our land. We will use our usual liturgy, but will replace the time we would sing with an openness to God.

Book Fayre next week from 6.30 pm in church. Bring along friends and family to buy your Christmas presents and see what books are available, hear reviews, exchange well loved Christian books for others, have your children read stories, and all liberally mixed with a cup of coffee and a chat. Posters and invites available at the welcome desk.

The Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir opens its 2007/08 season with a gala ‘Last Night of the Proms’ concert in Dewsbury Town Hall next Saturday, 17th November 2007 at 7.30 pm. The evening features both choir and orchestra presenting lots of lighter musical favourites, with YPC including Borodin’s Polosvian Dances as part of their selection. The soloists too are entering into the spirit with their favourites such as Nessum Dorma, Funiculi Funicula and O Mio Babbino Caro. The second half will feature all the ‘Last Night’ favourites ending traditionally with ‘Jerusalem’. There’s still time to decide to come to both enjoy and join in, you’ll even get a flag! Tickets from the Box Office on 324501, or you may still get in on the door. You may like to know that the Yorkshire Phil. have produced a new Christmas CD which will be on sale for the first time on that evening. It features Christmas music and favourite carols to enjoy during the build up to and over the Christmas period. Ideal as a gift too. It’s priced at £10. If you can’t get to the concert but would like to order one please have a word with Derek, Dave or Libby and they’ll sort one out for you as soon as they are available.
