Notice Board:

A Line in the sand I think we are all keen to move on from the difficulties we have faced over the last few months and come together to continue our mission to bring the gospel to Normanton. So Dave Clark and I have spent time looking at how me might mark this. This is the third week where at the 9.30 service and the 11.30 service we will not have any music but will use the time to seek the Lord together and to humble ourselves before God and one another and pray so He might bless our land. We will use our usual liturgy, but will replace the time we would sing with an openness to God.

Women on Wednesday Eastern Court meal Leaving the Parish Rooms at 7.30 pm on Wednesday. If you need picking up from home please let Dawn know. If you are making your own way there let Dawn know so that we do not wait for you, the meal is booked for 8.00 pm. Our minibus will provide transport.

Book Fayre Another brilliant evening. At least 50 people passed through the doors, some with no church connection. We sold over £500 worth of books. Thanks to all who worked to make the evening such a success especially those who were brave enough to give book reviews.

Bookstall There are Advent calendars and Christmas cards for sale on the bookstall; there are also a number of second hand books for everyone to look and take home.

Food Cupboard Please remember the food cupboard when you are out shopping, we are now in the process of making up Christmas parcels for the needy in Normanton.

Carol Singing As in previous years we plan to sing carols (in four parts and unaccompanied) around areas of the town on the night of Friday December 14th. This has always proven to be a very enjoyable time for all concerned and many have come out of their homes to tell us how much they have appreciated the music. It’s a real opportunity to spread the love of God. If you sang last year an would like to join us again...fantastic! If you didn’t sing last year but would like to this year...fantastic! We will have two rehearsals...yes, just the two...such is my confidence(!) both on Thursday evenings: November 29th and December 6th, 8.15—9.00 pm in church. Music provided...just bring your voice and a joyful heart. look forward to seeing you on the 29th—Dave.

Christmas Services Oh no is it really that time of year! We will have our carols by candlelight on 16th December, with 3.00 and 5.00 pm Christingles on Christmas Eve and midnight communion, then on Christmas Day 8.00am traditional communion, with a 10.30 am family communion.

Kate Penrose-thank you for your support Kate completed the New York marathon in a few seconds over 4 hours 1 minute. Thanks again for those that have generously sponsored her in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society, we would be grateful if you can let us have your sponsor money as soon as possible—Kate’s sponsor forms will be in church the next couple of Sundays and Wednesdays, please give your money to John on Sunday or Marlene Stephenson on Wednesday.

Sunday 2nd December. Duty Roster

If you are on duty but cannot make it then you must find a replacement. We have had a number of people recently who have failed to do this and it has caused embarrassing silences in the services, please check your rotas.
