Christmas Thanks to all those who worked so hard to make it such a success, and from Don and Dawn for your good wishes and presents which are very much appreciated.

“Climate Change” 20th January in church at 6.30 pm. Night of discussion on whether it is a reality and its cause if it is. Leon Collyer and Oli Gilkes will introduce the issues to us from different perspectives. There will be an opportunity for discussion and biblical perspective on creation.

Hope 08 This weekend sees the start of our Normanton Hope 08 questionnaire. On the welcome desk you will find questionnaire’s for you to take home to take part by getting friends and neighbours to fill in a questionnaire. The form will also be available to download from the website. All the questionnaire’s need to be completed by the end of January.

Prayer Meeting begins in church this Monday. As always this is open to all.

Face to Face restarts in the vicarage on Tuesday at 7.30 pm. A discipleship course starting with Freedom in Christ. Speak to Dawn if you are interested.

Women on Wednesday First meeting in the new year will be in the vicarage on 30th January.

Children’s Leaders Meeting There will be a meeting for everyone involved in children’s ministry including members of the worship team who are involved in Sunday morning children’s work on Wednesday 9th January from 7.00 pm in the Parish Rooms. If you are interested in getting involved with children’s ministry please contact Gavin asap.

Youth/Children’s Groups The midweek youth groups will restart on Wednesday 16th January 2008 with Chill Out Zone, Rock Solid and Streetlight. The Sunday morning groups will restart from Sunday 20th January at 11.30 am.

Men’s Conference in Bath, A Day with Dave author of the book ‘Why Men Hate Going To Church’. A challenging and thought provoking day for blokes who want to be true to their Christian faith: at home, at work and as members of today’s church, on Saturday 26th January 2008. We will be leaving from the Parish Rooms at 3.00 pm on Friday 25th, travelling in the church mini bus and staying overnight at the YMCA; total cost £40.00. Food Cupboard Thank you to everyone who gave items of food for the Christmas parcels, we were able to give out six parcels. The food cupboard is an on going outreach to the community and distributed for various reasons so please remember a few items each week will keep the cupboard full and they are very much appreciated. Thank you—Daisy Bastow and Jean Fearnley.

Men Awake The 2008 calendar for the Men Awake events is now on the website at www.allsaintsnormanton.org.

Coffee/Welcome Would everyone please respond to the letter they received about the coffee/welcome rota so that we can get it all sorted out as soon as possible.

Bookstall Ann Bucktrout has retired after many years running the bookstall in church; if we are to continue to have a bookstall we need a new volunteer to run it. If you are interested see Ann or Inga.

Heather Wood is getting married on February 9th 08 at 1.30 pm at Wakefield Cathedral to George Atkinson. If anyone wishes to attend the service they are very welcome. Email Heather at heatherwood19@yahoo.co.uk.
