COMMUNITY GROUPS
The following groups will use the building:
This group has started using the building on Thursday evenings and this now presents Gavin and the team with the opportunity to develop this work significantly in the coming months. Please speak to him if you would like more info.
Dates for the first course are due to be announced shortly; please see Ron or Rose for more details. The meetings will be on a Monday evening.
We will hold a community coffee morning each week from Friday March 5th.
These will take place from 10.00am until 1.00pm.
These coffee mornings will present us with the opportunity to meet more of the community and identify further how we can be like Jesus in caring and sharing with people at The Well.
Community Space
We will be creating the opportunity for some groups to use the building for sessions; the first of these will be ‘Firville Tenants Community Group’.
Bishops Development Fund
We recently received a grant from the fund to purchase equipment and furnishings for the building. The project has been well received by the Bishops and they have requested use of the building for their next trust meeting.
Future Group Development
Plans are underway to create a group space for ‘young parents and children’, a significant need in the Woodhouse community.
Other possible groups are in the pipeline…further details in the next update.
REGISTER OF INTEREST
I would like to encourage the involvement of more people in the wider project as it develops.
It may well be that you have an area of interest that you would commit to should the opportunity arise.
I am proposing that we hold a register of ideas and interest – I cannot guarantee it will all happen! But it may allow us to utilise any training opportunities that arise in preparation.
If you wish to express a specific area of interest, please complete a form on the desk.
This does not mean I will not approach people. I am praying and seeking discernment all the time as I meet people and see need and opportunity.
At the same time I am regularly ‘praying over the people of the church’ for leading on the way forward.
The project is about meeting need, meeting people, meeting Jesus.
Prayer for my meetings and opportunities to ‘promote the work and share faith’ are the prayer priority. I am now meeting with key community leaders in the Town.
Please pray that the groups are established well and people who come into the building encounter Jesus through the presence of the Holy Spirit and the care and commitment of the group leaders and volunteers.
That I discern and establish the right community partners with which to develop the project.
That the appropriate funding sources and applications are successful.
That the Trustees of the Project are given ongoing wisdom, discernment and conviction of the direction of the project as it develops.

There are lots of small activities and tasks that you could be involved with if you wish, such as;
- Preparing newsletters and bulletins
- Updating policies
- Organising posters
- PC research on certain information requirements
- Distributing leaflets for an hour
- Obtaining quotes for materials, services
- Procuring leaflets and information for issue in the building
- Tidying the area around the building
- These don’t require a great commitment but do allow you the opportunity of being involved in the project itself.
- You may have ideas of your own.
- You are welcome to come and discuss these with me over coffee at The Well.
