‘Star Spangled Evening’
Saturday 4th July at 7.30pm in Wakefield Cathedral
An evening allowing us all to join in America’s Independence Day celebrations by acknowledging the influence of American music and American musicians on the world. The evening will feature a range of styles and genres and will include music by George Gershwin, Aaron Copland, Samuel Barber, Eric Whitacre, Morten Lauridsen, George Shearing, Jerome Kern, Rogers and Hart and others, with the first half featuring Leonard Bernstein’s ‘Psalms’ written for our own Chichester Music Festival about the same time as he scored West Side Story. The YPC summer concerts are always planned to be lighter and that little bit different, you’re invited to come and see what that means this time.

Tickets £16 (seniors £15) & £13 (seniors £12), U16’s free, available from 01924 364862 or www.yorksphilchoir.co.uk, or contact Derek Howell as soon as you can.
